Service Times
United Hebrew Congregation has long been a leader in nurturing the traditions of Reform Judaism as a meaningful expression of Jewish life. Our roots are planted in the very beginnings of Judaism.
Worship services are held at 7:00 p.m. on Fridays, September through May (The last Friday night of the month is a 6:00 p.m. Kabbalat Shabbat service preceeded by a wine and cheese Oneg Shabbat at 5:30 p.m. From Memorial Day to Labor Day all services are held at 6:00 p.m. preceeded by a wine and cheese Oneg. Services on Saturdays generally begin at 10:30 a.m., and on Jewish holidays throughout the year generally begin at 9:00 a.m. Frequently the Saturday morning service is graced by a Bar/Bat Mitzvah candidate. Please call the Temple office, 314-469-0700 to confirm the time of the Service.
On the first Friday night of the month during the school year, family services are held at 7 p.m. These services often include the participation of our Artist-in-Residence, Rick Recht and his "Light Up Shabbat" Service. "Kid"dush Club Services are held during the year either on Friday night or Saturday morning for families with Preschool age children. Please check the Temple bulletin or our Web Site for dates and times.
Traditional Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services, as well as special multi-generational services, are held to accommodate the needs of all our congregants. A second day Rosh Hashanah service is also held. Children's services, appropriate for younger children, also are scheduled for each High Holy Day.
