- What is a JYG?:
Well, it stands for Junior Youth Group which is for future NFTY
members, generally 7th and 8th grades.
- What is NFTY?:
Oh yeah, NFTY is the youth group
that all the high schoolers are in. It stands for North American
Federation of Temple Youth.
- And MV?: Right,
that means Missouri Valley.
This is one of 19 regions
of NFTY. MV is reallllly big.
- What is a Chavurah?:
That is some crazy Hebrew word that means fellowship or a group
of Jews who meet to do some activity. In this case it means, a
weekend of fun, prayer, programs, socials, food, friends, and some more
fun.
Now that these issues are out of the way. You should go
to this chavurah. Those nice SE people have been
working
hard
to give us an awesome weekend. There is lotsa information in the
application, so download that pdf and read away. There
is even a nice early bird rate if you
sign up by the dealine of December 16. Even better, the United
Hebrew Jablon Youth Fund is providing $25 for every attendee!
A
parental web
page
about NFTY in general (with information on a typical chavurah) can be
found here.
