Philo was an important philosophical contributor to diasporic Judaism. He also inspired other philosophers to develop Christianity into a movement that would change the world. This round-table discussion with Cantor Eichaker will start with a general background on Philo’s life in Alexandria, Egypt and his influence on his community and the community of theologians of the time. Then we will study and discuss one or more of his philosophical treatises as a way of understanding his personal views and how they impacted his world and future.
