Join United Hebrew, Shaare Emeth and Temple Israel for a Senior Lunch program at Shaare Emeth on Monday, August 20 at 12 noon.  Award-winning storyteller, Dianne Moran will engage us in stories of history and romance from the Civil War. Our first story, “A Rose for Emily,” by William Faulkner, captures a mix of human truth and whimsy in this touching view of a Southern aristocrat’s fall from grace. The second tale is Ambrose Bierce ’s compelling tale of “The Mockingbird” chronicles the essence of The American Civil War.

Lunch prior to the program will be from boxed lunches catered by Jilly’s Cupcake Bar and Café. Each boxed lunch comes with chips and a Jilly’s cupcake parfaits. We will also have salad as well. Please choose one of the following:

  • Chicken Salad: All white meat, fresh roasted chicken salad on challah egg bread with fresh lettuce and tomato.
  • Chicken Caesar Wrap: Crisp romaine lettuce with roasted chicken, tomatoes and our creamy roasted garlic dressing rolled in a flour tortilla
  • OMG Veggie: A grilled portabello mushroom cap stacked with grilled zucchini, peppers and red onions on a toasted focaccia bun with fresh spinach, roasted garlic goat cheese and balsamic syrup.

Gluten Free: Choose one of the above and the ‘sandwich’ will be served on lettuce instead of bread.

The cost to attend is $10 per person. Please mail your RSVP with payment (check or cash only—checks payable to “Shaare Emeth”) by August 9 to: Shaare Emeth, Attn: Shandi Greve Penrod, 11645 Ladue Rd., St. Louis, MO 63141.
