“In Judaism we are taught to say 100 blessings a day. All of these blessings really are times when we ‘bless’ God by saying thank you.”  Sukkot is our festival of thanksgiving. This idea of constantly giving thanks for even minute things is the key to changing our overwhelmed thoughts into a constant positive mindset. In decorating our sukkah this year, we want to literally create a “sukkah of blessing.” We are planning to hang different colored ribbon throughout the sukkah with blessings for ourselves and others for the new year. The sukkah will also be decorated with emojis which are modern symbols of expression. We will have items for you to decorate and hang during our Blue Jean Shabbat and the Sukkot Block Party. Or you may want to create your own at home, and bring them to the sukkah.
