There are many ways to give at United Hebrew, and giving your time is one of the most important. United Hebrew offers many ways to participate in our community and help make it the vibrant and warm congregation that it is. From Mitzvah Day to Membership, from Facility to Fundraising, from Preschool to general office work, there are many ways for you to contribute your expertise, talents and energy.

Shabbat Greeter – Greet people or congregants and guests as they arrive for Friday night services, for about 30 minutes. Contact – Esther Olson at 314-469-0700.
Office Assistant – Help with mailings, filing, phones, etc. Any weekday, during business hours. One time occurrence or on a regular basis. You an even be put on our volunteer e-mail list and we will contact you when we need anything. Contact – Jackie Carper at 314-469-0700.
Gift Shop – Assist with sales and gift wrap. Any week day, Friday night or Sunday morning. Contact – Iris DeWoskin at 314-469-0700.
Music Ensembles – Join a music ensemble for special events and/or High Holiday services. No long-term commitment required. There is also a youth choir, Shir Atid, that meets on Sundays after religious school that performs at our Shabbat Alive Services and a variety of other programs throughout the year. Volunteer in the kitchen with Debra or bake for special onegs – If you have been to any of our events recently, you know how amazing our food has been thanks to our Kitchen and Event Manager, Debra Grund. She is looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen and to serve at onegs on Friday evening and for other special programs. Bake for special Shabbatot where homemade goods are desired. Mitzvah Committee – This committee is building on our caring community activities and establishes different mitzvah opportunities throughout the year both at UH and in the community. This committee also helps plan our Mitzvah Day activities. Contact – Cori Neidenberg at 314-469-0700, x103.
Membership Committee – Have you ever felt like you have a good idea that you’d like to share about how we could be more welcoming to our newest members and our very favorite “old friends”? The Membership Team, led by Myron Holtzman and Stan Bunsick needs YOU and your good ideas.
