5783 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel. For thousands of years the Jewish people were without a land to call their own. May 1948 gave the Jewish people the autonomy over themselves and for the past 75 years Jews from around the world have found themselves at home in the safety and comfort of the Jewish state. This year, at UH, in addition to celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel, we’ll also celebrate Kolot Yisrael – Voices of Israel. We will explore the many and varied voices of the Jewish people, from those residing in Israel to the voices of our people in the US and around the world.
