5786/ 2025–26 Theme
Every year, United Hebrew chooses a theme for the year that we center our education and engagement activities around. The theme for 5786 is:
These two small words—Ani Ma’amin—have echoed through centuries of Jewish life. Drawn from Maimonides’ 13 Principles of Faith, they’ve offered comfort in times of struggle and courage in moments of uncertainty. And this year, they offer us an invitation: What does it mean to believe—right now, in this world, in this moment?
Jewish tradition doesn’t hand us belief tied up in a neat bow. Instead, belief is something we grow into. Something we question, wrestle with, nurture, and rediscover—again and again.
Over the coming year, we’ll explore belief together. Through prayer and music. Through learning and conversation. Through community—those sacred, everyday moments of connection that help us feel seen and supported. Whether your beliefs feel strong and steady, or you’re still sorting them out (as many of us are!), there’s a place for you in this journey.
We believe 5786 can be a year of renewal. A year of resilience. A year where belief becomes action.
Anachnu Ma’aminim. We believe in this community, and in the future we can build together.
