Wisdom of the Heart: A Shabbat Study Session with Rabbi Michal Ken Tor and Yael Saslove Shani

Saturday, December 3 at 12:30 p.m.

Spielberg Chapel

Join us in welcoming from Israel, Rabbi Michal Ken Tor, Maggid HaRuach and Reform Rabbi of Megiddo Regional Council, and Yael Saslove Shani, Chinese medical practitioner specializing in womens health. They will lead us in an exploration of the intersection between Jewish text and thinking with Eastern culture and an emphasis on Chinese medicine. In many cultures the heart symbolizes the center of all things. The beating heart creates the movement from it onwards as the center of life, the supreme order of the nature of our body. What is the role of the heart in the women’s menstrual cycle? How does the connection between our heart, brain and womb affect our physical, psychological, mental and spiritual health? How is the heart portrayed in the scriptures and what does it teach us about wisdom?

Bring a lunch and UH will provide dessert and drinks. RSVP to Esther Olson.

This program is co-sponsored by United Hebrew Congregation and MaTovu
